Pet CT scans provide us with a complete 3D picture of the inside of an animal’s body. The procedure is non-invasive and is exceptionally useful when diagnosing a variety of conditions as a scan shows the shape, size, density and texture of an animal’s bones and organs.
When assessing more complex conditions, including soft tissue or orthopaedic injuries and any other internal abnormalities, CT scanning supports us in determining the exact cause of a condition and prevents delay to a patient’s treatment.
CT scanning is used alongside our other imaging services, X-ray and Ultrasound and is paramount when diagnosing more complex conditions and advanced orthopaedic injuries. A CT scan can help support with pre and post-surgery care for conditions including:
• Bone injuries and advanced fractures, including spinal conditions
• Orthopaedic injuries (Cruciate disease, patella luxation, hip dysplasia and total hip replacement)
• Soft tissue (Tumours, chest, nasal and abdomen)
